This program is open to all and will be of special interest to students, teachers, and practitioners of Yoga and the health care professions.

The morning Yoga workshop is suitable for beginning students as well as those who wish to deepen their practice. For the practical, bring a mat to lie on, wear comfortable clothing, and come with a light stomach.

The wonderful vegetarian lunch, hosted by Hari and his Govinda staff, is always a highlight of the day.





The Hypocritical Human Mind
Why are human beings so inconsistent? Are we frequently morally hypocritical? Can our minds hide our political opinions…even from ourselves? What does evolution have to do with it?


Dr. Kurzban is a Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the Center for Evolutionary Psychology. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Anthropology, UCLA and the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at Caltech, as well as with Vernon Smith in the Economic Science Laboratory at the University of Arizona.

​As Founder of the Penn Laboratory for Experimental Evolutionary Psychology, he investigates a wide array of topics includingmorality, cooperation, friendship, mate choice, supernatural beliefs, modularity and self-control. Dr. Kurzban is the author of Why Everyone (Else) is a Hypocrite, and The Hidden Agenda of the Political Mind.


The Practical Yogic Mind
What are the traditional practices of Yoga? How can this ancient system of specific postures, breathing techniques,  relaxation and meditation practices effect the condition of the mind?​ 

PictureDr. Pratap was introduced to Yoga by his Teacher, Swami Kuvalayanandaji. Swamiji was a disciple of His Holiness Paramahamsa S’riman Madhavadasa Maharaj. This unbroken chain of direct experience and guidance goes back through the ages enduring the test of time.

​He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Bombay in the Department of Applied Psychology. Dr. Pratap is Director of the Yoga Program at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, President of the Yoga Research Society, and Founder/ Director of the SKY Foundation.

​He is the author of A Teacher’s Guide for Beginning Yoga, Yoga Vision, Secrets of Hatha Vidya, Stories Retold, and Yoga of Gheranda.
