Evening 2: Healing the Body through Mindfulness: Session 1

If we are going to find peace, it will be in this body, just as it is in just this moment.

Our culture uniquely values two things: 1) results 2) efficiency.

Whether it is a deadline or quota at work, a to-do list at home, most people would agree that there seems to be a constant tension “from too much to do, and not enough time to do it.”

Unfortunately, in all this ‘doing’, we often neglect to properly connect with and care for our own body – the body that makes all the doing possible!

Join Brandon R. Everett for this evening exploring 1) the benefits of bringing ourselves from a mode of doing to simply being (present) and 2) learn a practice that is calming, restorative, and healing to the the body.

No prior experience with Mindfulness meditation is necessary. Brandon strives to make his classes informational, empowering, and accessible.

Evening 3: Healing the Body through Mindfulness: Session 2

Not-So-Fun-Fact: There are receptors, for cortisol (the stress hormone) located on every cell of your body.

Empowering/Wonderful-Fun-Fact: When we learn to relate skillfully with our stress, for instance through the practice of Mindfulness, we can engage in a process of healing which engages and so benefits every cell of our body.

Join Brandon R. Everett for an evening exploring 1) how Mindfulness meditation counteracts stress, 2) how Mindfulness meditation is helps cultivate a healthy, healing relationship with our body, and 3) learn a straightforward practice for healing the body through Mindfulness.

No prior experience with Mindfulness meditation is necessary. Brandon strives to make his classes informational, empowering, and accessible.

Evening 4: “Peace & Joy to All: Living from the Heart in the New Year”

A student once asked her teacher whether she should practice mindfulness or lovingkindness.

The teacher responded, “From my own experience, there is no difference. Love and awareness are one. Think about it, when you are fully loving, aren’t you mindful? And when you are fully mindful, isn’t that the essence of love?”

Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisble to the eye.”

Mindfulness enables to shift into a mode of being present both with and for those we love. Having established our presence, we can exploring infusing that presence with love.

Join Brandon R. Everett for this evening exploring where mindfulness meets the heart in the practice of lovingkindness. He will provide an introduction to the topic of lovingkindness, and lead guided meditations for cultivating and sharing this quality.

No prior experience with Mindfulness meditation is necessary. Brandon strives to make his classes informational, empowering, and accessible.***
